After 14 years in corporate compliance for a national home inspection company, life handed me an unexpected shift. Just as I transitioned to working from home to be more present for my family, my workload slowed down. Suddenly, I had space to rediscover what brought me everyday joy: creating homemade treats with my hands (and failing rather spectacularly at gardening).
With my kids quickly approaching their teenage years, a new idea took root. I wanted to build something meaningful right here in our community—a welcoming neighborhood gathering spot, and a place where my kids and their friends could learn the value of hard work with their very first summer jobs.
To bring that vision to life, I teamed up with the true baker of our family: my big sister. Drawing on her baking expertise from across the coast in Bay St. Louis, we dusted off our cherished family recipes dating back to the 1940s.
Honey’s Sweet Shop was built on simple ingredients: time-tested heritage recipes, sisterly teamwork, and a deep love for our neighborhood. We’re here to serve up smiles, fluffy snowballs, and vintage scratch-made favorites to neighbors old and new.
Today, Honey’s Sweet Shop is a true family endeavor built on heritage, hearty laughter, and sweet tradition. From our vintage scratch-made baked goods and handcrafted snowballs to nostalgic treats, everything on our counter is made with heart, history, and a touch of sweetness. And most importantly, none of it would be possible without my husband and partner in crime, Danny—thank you for giving me the courage and confidence to jump in and bring this sweet dream to life.
Pull up a chair, satisfy your sweet tooth, and become part of our family story!
